Autumn Symphony
The morns are meeker than they were -
The nuts are getting brown -
The berry's cheek is plumper -
The Rose is out of town.
The Maple wears a gayer scarf -
The field a scarlet gown -
Lest I should be old fashioned
I'll put a trinket on.
(E. Dickinson)
Autumn makes fields and trees colourful,
the berry is beginning to take shape and the rose is on holyday.
Nature is dressing up and “lest I should be old fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on”, the author says.
Here the autumn is an inspiration tree and the leaves whirl in the air,
till their fall on the latest place Nature has reserved for them.
Like notes that cherish a white pentagram,
leaves play and draw melodies of colours and shapes.
We pick up a jewel and the interiors echo this autumn theme.
