Kerakoll Rekord
Professional, superior-technology, high-resistance hydraulic binder for screeds and heat-radiant slabs, with extra-rapid setting and drying, compensated shrinkage and high thermal conductivity; suitable for laying ceramic tiles, homogeneous tiles, natural stone, parquet and resilient materials with adhesives. For indoor use.
Restructuring work in dwelling houses with residents or in shops and trading centres where the user's activity must not be suspended, as well as short periods of intervention, require the use of high-technology screed binders. REKORD® provides superior technology for the creation of screeds with extra-rapid dimensional stability, allowing for professional laying of ceramic tiles after 6 hours and of parquet after only 24 hours.
EXTRA-RAPID DIMENSIONAL STABILITY – Restructuring work in dwelling houses with residents or in shops and trading centres where the user's activity must not be suspended, as well as short periods of intervention, require the use of high-technology screed binders. REKORD® provides superior technology for the creation of screeds with extra-rapid dimensional stability, allowing for professional laying of ceramic tiles after 6 hours and of parquet after only 24 hours.
HIGH MECHANICAL RESISTANCE – The REKORD® technology provides high levels of mechanical performance, superior to the typical levels of common Portland cements. The use of low-viscosity polymers, which regulate the hydration of the binder, reduces interstitial porosity and increases compactness, i.e. the essential conditions for long-life screeds subject to heavy traffic.
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE – The REKORD® technology provides the highest levels of performance for professional screeds, a specific requirement for laying resilient materials and covering materials sensitive to humidity. The use of high-dispersion, fluidifying polymers and tensioactive, superficial rheologyadjustment agents complete the chemical structure of REKORD®, ensuring constant hygrometric balance and a calibrated finish for all types of coverings.

AREAS OF USE
Hydraulic binder for screeds with extra-rapid setting and drying, adherent to substrates with ≥ 20 mm thickness and floating screeds with ≥ 40 mm thickness.
Compatible adhesives:
- cement-based adhesives with SAS Technology, reactive-epoxide and polyurethane twocomponent products, dispersed in water and in solvents solutions
Coatings:
- homogeneous tiles, ceramic tiles, klinker, cotto, glass and ceramic mosaic of all types and
formats, natural stone, recomposed materials and marble
- parquet, rubber, PVC, linoleum, moquette
Substrates:
- flooring in prefabricated concrete or fresh concrete castings, cement-based screeds and lightened concrete
Use
Indoor applications for civil, commercial and industrial use, also subject to thermal shock and freezing, heatradiant slabs.
Do not use
In outdoor applications, on substrates which are wet and subject to continuous moisture rising; in environments where there is a constant presence of water; on deformable substrates, without having previously calculated the degree of flexure and having provided for the necessary fractionizing joints in the screed; in adherence on concrete castings which have not yet fully matured.

PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATES
Desolidarise from vertical elements with a deformable, 10 mm band. For thicknesses < 40 mm insert a 50x50 mm mesh of Ø 2 mm, to be anchored to the substrate, and apply a slurry key fresh-on-fresh, with 2.5 parts cement, 1 part P6 latex and 1 part water. On lightened substrates or substrates with thermal-acoustic insulation, the thickness of the screed and the reinforcement will have to be calculated on the basis of the deformability class of the materials mentioned above.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Preparation: REKORD® must be mixed with water and inert materials using normal building-site equipment, until a semiplastic consistency is obtained and using assorted granulometry, 0 – 8 mm inert material to create screeds with thicknesses between 25 and 80 mm. For screeds of different thicknesses, use inert materials with a maximum granulometry of ≈ 1⁄3 of the thickness. The percentage of water will vary considerably depending on the degree of humidity of the inert material.
Dosage: the recommended dosage for REKORD® is 360 kg/m3 of inert material. To obtain higher degrees of mechanical resistance it is possible to prepare screeds with greater proportions of binder, carefully selecting the granulometric curve of the inert material and the water/REKORD® ratio.
Application: REKORD® is applied like a traditional cement-based screed. Compacting is particularly important to ensure the highest levels of mechanical performance. At the point where tubing is installed (minimum thickness of 2 cm), insert a tight-mesh, galvanised metal grid (2 – 3 cm). Connect the construction joints with iron rod bolts every
20 – 30 cm and a slurry key prepared with 2.5 parts REKORD®, 1 part P6 latex and 1 part water.
Cleaning: Residual traces of REKORD® can be removed from machinery with water before the product has hardened.

SPECIAL NOTES
Elastic joints: respect the structural joints. Provide for expansion joints at thresholds, niches, corners, edges, wall openings and fractionizing joints in the case of large continuous surfaces.
Measurement of humidity: residual humidity must be measured with a calcium carbide hygrometer. Normal electric hygrometers will provide incorrect values owing to the special binders used.

WARNINGS
- Product for professional use
- use in the recommended dosages
- low temperatures and high relative environmental humidity lengthen screed drying times
- an excessive quantity of water reduces mechanical resistance and the rapidity of drying
- before laying parquet and resilient materials, check residual humidity with a calcium carbide hygrometer
- do not add water to the adhesive during the setting phase
- do not moisten the screed once it has been created; protect from direct sunlight and air currents for the first 6 hours
- high temperatures considerably reduce workability times
- apply an upturned vapour barrier on the surfaces for laying water-sensitive flooring or on substrates which are at risk for rising damp
- if necessary, ask for the safety data sheet
- for further information please consult the Kerakoll Worldwide Global Service +39-0536.811.516
