This is how Cedir Ceramiche di Romagna has been founded, when in the 70's it was launched on a very challenging market.
Optimisation of industrial phases and attention to the quality and requirements of the market are factors that have enabled Cedir to expand all over the world
Cedir is today composed of two production units that employ 250 people and produce over 4 million square metres of ceramic tiles every year. They include porcelain tiles, single-fired white body tiles and single-fired wall tiles. The trademark Cedir is a point of reference for many countries all over the world.

The entire CEDiR production process is carried out respecting nature and the environment.
Extraction takes place in controlled clay-pits specially located to avoid environmental damage.
The energy source for CEDiR plant is exclusively natural gas. Heat produced by the work process is reused in the production cycle.
The exhaust fumes from the kilns, like the fumes from the atomisers and driers, are purified and rigorously controlled before being released into atmosphere.
Refuse from the various production phases is totally reused. The water necessary for the work process is completely recycled and reused.
CEDiR production currently uses only lead-free enamels. The workcycle is concluded with firing at 1200° C, a temperature wich generates chemical reactions among the constituent components of mix and enamels. The consequences of these chemical reaction are:
a very compact, hard and tough tile structure;
immobilisation of metals in the enamels, the former becoming inert thus excluding transfer phenomena and dispersal into environment under mormal condition of use.
CEDiR tiles are inert to fire, they neither burn nor get damaged by exposure to flames and therefore protect the structures thy are laid on. They do not aid the feeding and spreading of flames and do not emit toxic substances or harmful gases of any kind.
The international body ISO (International Standard Organization) through the Quality Certification Institute CERTIQUALITY - has acknowledged that CEDIR Ceramiche di Romagna S.p.a. is capable of operatin in conformity with the international quality assurance standards UNI EN ISO 9001: 2000.
UNI EN IS0 9001 - 2000 Certification is official recognition that CEDIR can assure and guarantee Global Quality: Constant commitment to product research and developent.
