-Quality tradition
Marca Corona is the oldest ceramic company in Sassuolo.
Its foundation dates back to August the 4th 1741 when the first company compages obtained the “Proclamation Over the Majolica Factory” signed by Count Borso Santagata, a true Deed of Incorporation of the company and of the ceramic industry of Sassuolo.

-White majolica
Towards the end of 1700 the majolica factory passes on to Giovanni Maria Dallari, noble family man and sharp intellect who brings the rising manufacturing to a remarkable improvement. Under his guide and under the favour of Francesco III°, Marca Corona becomes the most important centre of ceramic production in the whole Estense Duchy.

-The first decorations
Since 1836 with Francesco Ferrari Moreni the production is characterised by refinement of decorations and the repetition of the coulors white and blue, in tune with the style of those days.
In 1854 the “Old Factory” passes on to Giovanni Maria Rubbiani who innovated the company through important technological investments and introduced the varicoloured sassolese production to the most important national and international exhibitions.

-The first tiles
Particularly attentive to the technological innovation, the Rubbiani’s started the production of ceramic plates called “pianelle” as street signs, public buldings and work places. The success of the plates was such that it spread far out in Africa and South America.
The real revolution was represented by the" dry-pressed" tiles that Carlo Rubbiani exhibited for the first time in Rome in 1889 and that delineated the transformation of the company from artisan shop to ceramic tile industry.

-A Century of Success
From the restoration of the Rubbiani Palace Panel, decorated by the Modenese artist Carlo Casaltoli at the end of 1800, to the tile designed on the occasion of the space mission accomplished by the Modenese Astronaut Maurizio Cheli in 1996, Marca Corona has interpreted the economic and cultural evolution of the society, expanding its own boundaries beyond Modena towards Italy and the World.

Marca Corona produces and distributes floors, cladding and mosaics all over the world. An exclusive technology allows for the creation of products in porcelain stoneware with excellent technical and aesthetic features, beside the most traditional single-fired and double-fired tiles. The head office in Sassuolo embodies a wide and updated showroom situated on the side of the building.

-Towards the new millennium
Strengthening furthermore its leadership position, since 1982 Marca Corona is part of the CONCORDE Group, one of the most important European ceramic holdings.
To confirm its own vocation to quality, in 1998 Marca Corona obtained the certification of "Quality System Company" according to law ISO 9001 that guarantees quality to the planning, production and marketing of the products.

-The Certifications
In 1998 Ceramiche Marca Corona obtained the certification of “Company Quality System” according to the ISO 9001 law that guarantees planning, production and product commercialisation quality.

-Awards
For the originality and visual impact of its exhibition of ceramics at Coverings ’99, Marca Corona was awarded the Grand Prize Award, bound to the most innovative stand. Tile UK, reference magazine of the ceramic field in England, awarded Marca Corona the prix “Best New Tile Floor Range” as best product of year 2000, during the Birmingham Expotile manifestation.
